In Search of Great Pumpkins...

Article and photo by Eric H.
Bookmark and ShareIf you live in the southwest Massachusetts suburbs or Northern Rhode Island and need a great pumpkin, we recommend trying Adams Farm in Cumberland, R.I.

This friendly farm features many pumpkins under its seasonal canopy, as well as in the scenic fields. We've never found a shortage of pumpkins here, with the batting average of healthy-looking pumpkins high! If, however, you need to go beyond pumpkins, Adams Farm sells apples, cornstalks, mums, hay, Indian corn, candy apples, cider and gourds. Adams Farm also features hay rides, a corn maze and animals (cows, horses, goats)!

The best time to visit Adams Farm is on the weekend where this delightful farm seems to be more in full operation. It's a beautiful place, one to kick back and relax in the pastoral New England fall countryside.

Cumberland Farm!

Bookmark and ShareAdam's Farm in Cumberland, R.I., celebrates the simple joys of life in the New England fall.

This small farm with the seasonal store under a tent and some most pleasing peaceful country farm views features everything "fall": apples, candy apples, caramel apples, cider, cornstalks, gourds, hay, hay rides, a hay maze, Indian corn, mums and various other healthy-looking plants, and a petting zoo with goats and sheep.

Although the fall-oriented merchandise and activities draw people from all over the region, what makes Adam's Farm most special is the sweet smell of fresh air and the postcard-perfect scenes of pumpkins, white fences and green land. When the fall foliage arrives, Adam's Farm looks even more like a wonderland of New England fall pastoral beauty. Viewing this scene lends Adam's Farm an almost retreat-like quality, offering a potent antidote to the stresses of nearby "civilization." We highly recommend visiting this modest-sized, but wonderful farm in northern Rhode Island -- just minutes from Wrentham and Plainville, Mass.
