October Haunted Hayride Event, Old Saybrook, CT

Old Saybrook, CT, might not be a scary place -- in fact, it's a lovely, classic New England coastal community -- but as expected, things will get a little "frightening" during the Halloween season, courtesy of its all-volunteer fire department!

The 11th annual Old Saybrook Haunted Hayride, held by the Old Saybrook Fire Department, will take place at 7 p.m. from Oct. 16-18 and Oct. 23-25, at the Clark Memorial Field, 210 Elm St., in Old Saybrook.

Events will include a possessed tractor-drawn hay wagon leading visitors into the deep, dark, demented woods of "Scary Old Saybrook," featuring ghosts, goblins and ghouls. Bone-chilling sounds of creatures of the night in the front and a witch in the mix, no doubt, "promises to be the most hair-raising Halloween season in the history of Old Saybrook".

Funds from the Haunted Hayride event will benefit the all-volunteer Old Saybrook Fire Company No. 1, Inc., and a food drive for the Shoreline Soup Kitchen and Pantries. Admission for adults is $10 and for children, $5. You may bring a can of food to donate for the Shoreline Soup Kitchen to receive $1.00 off admission.
